Business as usual at Sudeley Castle

Members of the Smartline team were recently invited by Tewkesbury Borough Council to organise the town's autumn B2B business and networking event. The successful event held in the beautiful setting of Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe attracted around 160 delegates and 70 exhibitors. The event was opened by the Borough Mayor and lead member for economic development, Dave Waters, and was followed by a morning of seminars and a networking business luncheon attended by over 80 local business professionals.
 
The Smartline stand manned by Abid, Mo and Mandi attracted a crowd of startup businesses who were all eager to find out more about Smartline's website packages. The team is now looking forward to helping a handful of new businesses on their way to success and have also been commissioned to redesigning several existing web sites to improve their search engine rankings and increase traffic
Abid commented "This was our third Tewkesbury B2B event and it was a real success. We have had so much positive feedback that it was worth all the hard work".

 
 
 
 
 

Runaway success at the Racecourse

Over one hundred delegates gathered at Cheltenham Racecourse in February to join international business growth expert, Richard Denny for an exclusive business seminar entitled Win New Business.
 
Richard was accompanied by his wife, Dorothy Denny both of whom share an excellent track record in the business world. Richard's bestselling books and training materials were up for grabs, with Richard offering to personalise and sign them on the night. Selling to Win is recognised worldwide as one of the best books ever written on selling.

We would like to thank everyone who purchased Charity Grand Prize Draw tickets which raised £165 for local cancer charity, Tenovus. Prizes on offer included exclusive race tickets for two, kindly donated by our generous hosts. Special thanks to Clare and Fiona who joined us for the evening from Tenovus.

We wish to thank our event sponsors Tiger Fish, Officeworx, FSB and Furry Feet TV for their support and generous sponsorship, and we are also grateful to racecourse staff who were fabulous hosts.
 
The event brought together a diverse range of businesses owners, who by the end of an educational and highly thought provoking evening, were all eager to try out Richard's advice in their own business setting to reap the rewards of being more customer focused.
 
It was certainly worth all the hard work and planning which was started many weeks in advance by the B2B Events Team at Smartline culminating in a very successful and enjoyable evening.
 
 

Smart outcome for Smartline

The Smartline team was delighted to be invited by local business professional, James Brown, to attend a business seminar held in Gloucester last month to promote Smart Outcomes.
 
Attended by charities and local authority representatives, the event proved an instant success promoting the benefits and features of this innovative software. Smart Outcomes was designed and developed by James who has many years' experience in database development and performance management.

The Smartline team has supported and guided James throughout the project to produce a feature rich website to showcase Smart Outcomes' innovative approach and flexible options.

We wish James every success as he launches this new performance measurement tool.

A well matched business partnership

Gloucestershire business partners, Gavin Casey and Andrew Farley have recently launched a brand new online dating service, PairTree. The duo approached Smartline renown for their innovative web development to find the right solution for their business.
 
The Smartline team worked closely with PairTree from the early concept stage right through to the final delivery of a bespoke website. The site boasts numerous advanced features such as the integration with Compatibility Quotient and provides a state of the art web based solution.

J9 Business Group meet at the Roses Theatre

The show must go on …

In December Abid found himself centre stage at the Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury.

With no time for a dress rehearsal, Abid (pictured second from the right) was whisked away back stage to join members of the J9 Business Group. Attendees at the management team meeting were treated to the hospitality of theatre staff, and were made to feel stars of the show.

This year’s pantomime, Dick Whittington, has proved very popular. Reassuringly, Abid has confirmed that his business will be staying firmly put in Tewkesbury rather than following in the footsteps of Mr Whittington and his cat - moving to London to seek their fortune!

Smartline team work

Members of the Smartline team have been hard at work again, and have pulled off two successful B2B networking events in Tewkesbury aimed at promoting local businesses.

Smartline were chosen by Tewkesbury Borough Council as their preferred partner to organise and manage two B2B Networking events in the Borough this year.

Tewkesbury Park Hotel was the setting for the first successful event back in April, and following positive feedback from local businesses, a second event was organised at Hatherley Manor Hotel in November.

The most recent event attracted (number) individuals and (number) exhibitors and sponsors securing the future for a third event due to take place early next year at Winchcombe. Watch this space for details.

Not only chosen to design and host the B2B website by Tewkesbury Borough Council, Tewkesbury based Smartline International Ltd has been involved in the organisation and promotion of the forthcoming B2B event at Hatherley Manor on 18th November.
 
This is not the first time the Smartline team have been at the forefront of arranging such an event, having been responsible for the organisation of the B2B event at Tewkesbury Park Hotel back in April of this year.

Football Tournament @ Cheltenham Town FC

We have competed against 19 other teams from various businesses in the area in a Six Aside Challenge last Sunday 16th May 2010.  We have reached the quarter final and unfortunately lost in penalties.  The winners were Trelleborg United from Tewkesbury.
 
Mo, our Marketing Director worked hard towards the event and managed the team to try their best..  thanks Mo...



It was a nice family day out and for sure we will do better next year and win it.
 
 
 
 
 

Smartline @Tewkesbury B2B Event

We have had such a hectic time this month getting ready for the Tewkesbury B2B Networking Event at Tewkesbury Park Hotel our feet have not touched the ground! 

It’s an event being organised by Tewkesbury Borough Council to bring local business people together, and is being hosted at Tewkesbury Park Hotel on 21 April 2010. 

We have been involved right from the start from designing and hosting the B2B website, organising the keynote speakers and specialist business advisers who will be on hand all day to offer free professional advice and guidance. This event brings together over 140 delegates, over 20 exhibitors and sponsors all under one roof. You can rely on us to take care of every last detail to guarantee a successful and enjoyable event. 

The day ran from 9.30 to 3:00 pm.

Abid Naser - Business Star 2009

Abid has been involved with the Tewkesbury Branch of the FSB for a number of years now.   He knows how important it is to support small local businesses, and how difficult it can be setting up a new business in the current economic climate. 

In appreciation of Abid’s hard work and for all the time he has put in supporting the work of the local FSB branch, he has been awarded the prestigious FSB Business Star Award 2009. 

Abid was very surprised to receive the award which was presented to him by Sue Lambert, FSB Branch Chair and Bruce Keen, the branch Regional Representative.   
 
'It was a surprise to me but appreciated that highly.  Fellow committee members of our local FSB branch have put a great effort to assist small businesses in our area and all are dedicated to help when possible.  I do thank them for this award and for the great team effort'.

Curry Friday @ Smartline

We thought Friday afternoon’s needed a helping hand, what with all the doom & gloom about in the media causing negative vibes, so we invited some of our old clients to come and meet some of our new ones for some nice food and a bit of social networking. Z & H Cuisine whom are a new client of Smartline provided the wonderful authentic Indian food which was loved by all, so big thanks to them. Over 30 people attended and the feedback was excellent, so as a result we are planning to do it again, so watch this space...

Breakfast Launch

We have successfully launched our first face2face breakfast in the region. The event was held on Wednesday 13th May and it was a great success. Over 30 businesses attended, and as a result we endeavor to hold the breakfast event at least once a month.

The venue ‘Sherdons Golf Centre’ delivered an excellent service all round, so it’s likely that we will use their facilities again.
